2010 Gothic Giggle

Please meet Alice and her felted Chessy cat! Alice came about after a wonderful friend sent me this adorable dress pattern. At the time the pattern was sent to me I had no idea that the dress I would make from it would turn out to be just the perfect dress for a Gothic Alice. Needless to say, after the dress was made I found myself wondering how I would create the perfect doll to go into it. Well my darling friend answered that for me as well and made up a special ragdoll pattern just for me. See, I have made all my own patterns in the past but I have never tried to create a ragdoll before.  I am so happy I gave it a go! Thank you Madame Samm!

I created Alice from a wonderful craft velour then drew her eyes and features on with Prisma watercolor pencils. I finished up with black pen and sealed it all with a matte spray. Her hair is such a super soft shiny yarn done in the "traditional" Alice style. She has rick rack socks and painted on black boots.

Alice would just not be Alice without a Chessy Cat so I created her ornery grinning cat using wool and the needle felting method. What a delightful pair!

Alice measures approx. 11 inches head to toe and Chessy measures approx. 3 inches sitting.
